A remarkable reunion in Hong Kong

In Hong Kong Laura experienced a very special moment when backstage at the Cultural Centre a remarkable reunion took place that she had caused... The song Rose, Rose I Love You, that Laura recorded in Chinese and that was added as a special bonus for the Asian market on her latest album The Best Is Yet To Come, was composed by the father of Prof. Chen Gang (left in the picture and 79 years old!). Laura conquers China!

After concerts in Shanghai and Guangzhou she played Shenzhen last night. Accompanied by the JZ All Star Big Band from Shanghai Laura makes the Chinese get of their chairs! They dance, sing along and even queue for almost an hour for an autograph. In the meantime Laura is in Hong Kong where the provisionally last concert of The Best Is Yet To Come tour is to take place tomorrow at the HK Cultural Centre. But next year there will be a sequel!

Laura Fygi in Hong Kong

Laura just returned from Hong Kong where she performed at the Wine & Dine Festival on October 28 and 29. The festival was held for the 2nd time and is set up along the banks of Victoria Harbour. The many stalls offered a tasting of the best wines and exquisite food was served. Laura performed at the opening ceremony with a fantastic symphony orchestra consisting of music students. Then she moved the audience to sing along with her in French and surprised everyone by singing in Chinese!

On her birthday Laura Fygi signed a new recorddeal with Dutch recordcompany T2 Entertainment. This young and enthusiastic team will release the new cd that is to be recorded later this year and will appear early 2011, Laura?s anniversary year. The cd will be produced by her ?own boys? Laura has just returned from Istanbul where ze performed during the prestigious annual Jazz Festival. The venue was a beautiful location on the banks of the Bosporus with one of the fantastic Istanbul bridges in the background. Laura was accompanied by the Ayan Sicimoglu Latin All Stars, a fantastic local band that was a pleasure to work with!

On March 30th Laura Fygi will appear for millions of people! She is one of the international guests in a spectacular show celebrating the opening of the new Bund as well as the 30 days countdown to the opening of the World Expo in Shanghai.
